Join Us for '31 Days to Go Red' and Support Heart and Brain Health

At Commonwealth Credit Union, we believe in the power of community and giving back—especially when it comes to causes that impact lives on a deeply personal level. That’s why we’re proud to support the American Heart Association and their Go Red for Women initiative with our '31 Days to Go Red' campaign this October.

Heart disease and stroke touch the lives of so many, including members of our very own CCU family. Our Vice President of Member Experience, Kim Durrum, knows firsthand the importance of heart and brain health, and we are honored to have her share her personal story as part of this campaign. Kim’s journey is a powerful reminder of the critical need for awareness, prevention, and support when it comes to health.

How You Can Make a Difference

Throughout the month of October, we invite you to join us in raising awareness and supporting the fight against heart disease and stroke. When you visit any of our branches, you’ll notice a large calendar poster and 50 red hearts displayed—symbols of hope and generosity.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Daily Giving: Each day of the month offers a unique opportunity to donate. For example, on October 5th, you can contribute $5; on October 10th, $10, and so on. Each date has multiple slots available, so several members can participate on the same day.
  • Share Your Support: After making a donation, you’ll fill out a heart with your name, and the person behind "why" you're participating. Then, we’ll proudly display it on the poster. It’s a great way to visually represent our community coming together for a life-saving cause.

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community, support a cause that affects millions, and fill our branches with hearts of generosity. Every donation counts, and together, we can help empower women to take charge of their heart health.

When you visit your local branch, you’ll already see the boards and hearts on display—so feel free to add your name and help make a difference!

Let’s make this October one filled with action, awareness, and compassion. Join us in going red, and let’s make a difference—one heart at a time.
